It is now also possible to go on trips to the northern parts of the archipelago from the town of Myeik, including multi-day trips with overnight camping on the islands; these are fun trips (and cheaper than live-aboard multi-day cruises) but it takes a long time to get to the outlying islands, and the water is not as clear for snorkling as it is further south toward Kawthaung.
